Adrian Brody plays a teacher that’s detached. So detached that self-absorbed teenagers notice. His life is so melancholy that Christina Hendricks plays another teacher who also seems to be a romantic interest. Wait, what? Ok, get over it then, Adrian Brody.

From a producer of Hurt Locker and the director of American History X. It’s got some other famous names in it, I just can’t remember any after Christina Hendricks.

This trailer is so fresh it’s from France. Don’t worry, the audio is All-American. Synopsis as follows:

Adam (Sturgess) is a seemingly ordinary guy in a very extraordinary universe. He lives humbly trying to make ends meet, but his romantic spirit holds on to the memory of a girl he met once upon a time from another world, an inverted affluent world with its own gravity, directly above but beyond reach… a girl named Eve (Dunst). Their childhood flirtation becomes an impossible love. But when he catches a glimpse of grown up Eve on television, nothing will get in the way of getting her back… not even the laws of science.

You feeling like some Sci-fi romance starring the girl known for upside down kissing? Well you’re in luck. The trailer showed that you can use all the cliche material you want (Romeo and Juliet plot, characters named Adam and Eve) but if you set it in an inventive and visually striking world and run with it, it becomes very interesting. With such a wild setting, you need the generic and well established cliches just to keep yourself grounded.
